Singapore celebrates its National Day on the 9th of August with a magnificent colourful parade to commemorate the Independence gained after its separation from Malaysia in 1965. The tumultuous road to Singapore’s independence is theatrically and beautifully display in the parade which forms as a narrative. The segment before the Finale will feature over 150 special needs participants singing What a Wonderful World as other participants create a colourful display of varying images of hand painted artwork from the students of the TOUCH Community Services. The official ceremony of the celebrations will conclude with participants reciting the pledge and singing the national anthem followed by a mesmerising display of fireworks that sets the bubbling Singaporean skyline on fire.
